Métis Jigging and Culture Awareness
Demonstration of the Red River jig by the facilitator, a Métis elder. Discussion of who are the Métis, what the participants know of Métis people and culture.
Introduction of the basic Métis Jigging step along with four or five fancy steps intertwined with Métis culture awareness.
At the end of the workshop the participants will be able to say they danced the Red River Jig, are more knowledgeable of Métis culture, and have reflected on comparisons of their own and other cultural ways.
