Each value is taught by an animal, who models and shows us how to live that value.
The values are:

Communication
Values & Beliefs
Community
Choices
Self Esteem
Balance
These values are life skills in themselves.
The workshop concentrates on individual critical thinking skills, how we live these values and how we apply them to our lives.

Canada was home to Indigenous peoples long before immigrants started to arrive.
The Seven Sacred Teachings, often called Grandfather or Grandmother Teachings are life morals that guides our conduct to be respectful with each other.
These basic teachings are used by most indigenous people worldwide.
There will be differences as to the animal and the term of the value that is used that best fits the distinct culture of each country and the diversity within each indigenous group.
The main teachings generally remain the same and are a common traditional bond for indigenous peoples.
Indigenous people have an oral history where traditional teachings are passed down by word of mouth to the next generation by the elders, the knowledge keepers, in way of storey telling and life modelling.
Workshop participants learn the core beliefs or ways of being for traditional indigenous peoples.
These teachings are Love, Respect, Courage, Honesty, Humility, Truth, and Wisdom. These are basic life morals which are important for all people worldwide to practice.
All the teachings must be practiced together. To only practice one teaching is to do the opposite of the teachings.
For example, in not giving love one is not being brave; not being humble is being conceited; not being honest is being dishonest.
Each teaching is connected to an animal that best represents the teaching in the gifts they have and how that animal lives its life.
The workshop examines what we already know about each animal, our experiences, stories, how each animal uses those gifts and demonstrates the teachings.
